You are a beautiful daughter and your Mom is so blessed to call you “first born”. I wish you God’s blessing and peace on your African journey. I bought some beads made by Uganda women and gave them to daughters and friends for Christmas. Each time I wear mine with pride and I think of you and the work you are doing.

I also wish you a safe journey to Uganda and back. Your dear, dear Mother will be in good hands while you are gone. I plan to be a part of that group after I get home next Friday, 3/19.

Courtney and have talked about how wonderful this blog has been for everyone and how talented you all are in putting this together. What a blessing this has been.

I just heard a song say LIFE THROWS YOU CURVES BUT YOU LEARN TO SWERVE ! This is just a blip in the road that your Mother will get through and be stronger for it.

I assume you won’t always be in four star hotels, so follow the dictates of your leaders about food, water and ice, and take lots of hand wipes, because you’re not used to the level of sanitation you may encounter and you want to return home healthy for the celebration!

Although your mother’s cancer is highly treatable, it requires aggressive protocols that usually produce side effects that would be very hard for a daughter to observe. You’ve been wonderful support for your mother, and are leaving her in good hands.
