Our Mission Statement
The Pink Chronicle’s Mission:
The Pink Chronicle is a documentation of my mother’s battle with breast cancer. The Pink Chronicle was established per my mother’s request in hopes that her story would help others in similar situations. Please let the chronicle be a platform for your voice as well ours. It’s best to not be alone in life’s struggles, a group of people speak louder than one. We want The Pink Chronicle to encourage hope, love, and laughter.
My mother’s battle began on December 31, 2009 when she received confirmation from the doctor’s that the lump she discovered in her breast was cancer. Her tumor was very large and fast growing so needed to be removed immediately. She started chemotherapy on January 11, 2010, which she will continue for the next four months. She will then undergo radiation followed by a double mastectomy for precaution.
My mom is truly one of the most wonderful people in the world. She is full of laughter and love. Her faith in God has already made her see the good in her frightful situation. She is a blessing to all her friends and family because of the joy she exudes. She is my best friend and the backbone to our family. It pains me to know what lies ahead of her, but I know she will beat breast cancer just as millions of other women around the world have as well.
The chronicle will report on all mom’s miracles, events, discoveries, hardships, laughter, and love through breast cancer. Please follow along and if you feel inclined share your own story and knowledge. She also loves encouragement so all of your comments will be much appreciated. I am not the world’s best writer nor am I an expert on breast cancer so please send me a comment or email with any corrections.
